Bandon Dunes is located on the Oregon
Coast in the town of Bandon, which is about four hours
south-southwest of Portland and two hours south-southwest of Eugene.
The resort consists of three courses - Bandon Dunes
(opened in 1999), Pacific Dunes (opened in 2001), and
the newest course, Bandon Trails, which opened in 2005.
Despite its youth, the resort has quietly moved up the
charts in popularity, as both the Bandon Dunes and
Pacific Dunes courses have been ranked in at least one
national Top 10 public course list during this decade.
Your guy likely has played few golf courses like the
ones at Bandon. The views are breathtaking, with
the Pacific Ocean serving as the backdrop for many of
the holes, particularly on Pacific Dunes. That man
of yours may even come back a little lighter after this
golf experience - no riding golf carts are allowed on
any of the courses, therefore requiring vigorous walking
and healthy exercise for golfers taking on the scenic
Bandon Dunes.
One thing to keep in mind when
planning a golf package to Bandon Dunes, or any
destination for that matter, is that the gift will go a
lot further if you do the planning. Just giving
your guy a golf resort brochure and saying "Happy
Birthday" or "Merry Christmas" isn't going to have the
same effect. Get together with your friends who
have love interests who play golf with him, figure out
their work schedules, and find a common time to book
their air, golf, and lodging. A golf
package gift to Bandon Dunes will mean the world to him.
Bandon represents high quality, West Coast golf at a
fraction of the price of more renowned courses like a
Pebble Beach in California. Check the airfares to
Portland or Eugene, find him some nice accommodations
(Bandon Dunes itself has lodging if you want to limit
his travel within the Bandon area), book the tee times
on one or two or all three courses, and watch him return
from his trip to Oregon with a big fat smile on his
face, no matter what numbers show up on his scorecard. |
